Lokal at the Lake reflects the deep attachment of Janka Gelencsér and Richárd Csillag to Balaton: their new restaurant in Fonyód continues their small-plate and producer-focused concept, yet with even more layered and vibrant flavours.
The name Lokal highlights their dedication to showcasing the region’s farmers; they also operate a producer market in Nagykanizsa, building close personal relationships with their more than thirty Balaton-area suppliers. At the lake signals their proximity to the water, as the restaurant sits barely 100 metres from the shore. From May 2025, they welcome guests year-round in Fonyódliget with small plates, a producer-driven menu, natural and organic wines and house-made beverages.
